I'm so excited to finally write a blog about the things I love - Show Business! All of it...the stars, the music, the movies, television. It is my life and will always be...so, now I will write whether anyone cares or reads it! Be that as it may be...here it is. I'll review movies, tv, music...maybe even some local events. Whatever is current and topical. And whatever is on my silly little mind!
Sunday, 8-8-10: Show Biz news today:
"The Other Guys" is box office winner for the weekend. Beating out Leo's "Inception" which was at number one for three weeks.
I've heard people say it's been one of the worst years ever in terms of movie quality. I cannot say. Until I've done this, my movie going has been close to nil. The only movie of the summer I saw was the Cameron and Tom movie, "Knight and Day". Other than that, I am going to see the indie film "Cyrus" tonight at the Kress Cinema in Greeley, Colorado *great movie locale btw*.
I love Seth Rogan. Ok...as I'm writitng this I realize it's not Seth Rogan...it's the other fat comic actor. I know I can google it, but I'm trying to think why I can't remember this young man's name? He was in "SuperBad"...one of my faves - JoJoGo for "SuperBad". Now that I think about it...I can't remember any of the actors' names in "SuperBad". Especially McLovin. Who is that kid? He's fab...I loved him so much and also loved him in "Role Models" with my VERY favorite actor, Paul Rudd. (JoJoGo for "Role Models").
But, I digress. Back to my other favorite actors...one of which happens to be Mark Wahlberg. I could've never dreamt that his career would be so fab since his debut as the psycho boyfriend of Reese Witherspoon's character in "Fear". Great Saturday afternoon movie btw. JoJoGo for "Fear".
Mark has done some great films...especially "Boogie Nights" which is great. Especially loved the drug deal scene which played my favorite singer's song..."Jessie's Girl" in the background. Gotta love it.
But, I digress again. I will watch with fervor my favorite actor (whose name escapes me)...the fat kid from "SuperBad". You know who I mean. And John C. Reilly who is NOT one of my faves...but, coincidentally starred with Mark Wahlberg in "Boogie Nights". I mean, he's talented...there's just something about him that kind of creeps me out. Maybe it was becuase of his porn star turn in "Boogie Nights". (Did I mention that "Boogie Nights" is a JoJoMustGo??). Especially when you consider he is playing the love interest of Marisa Tomeii in "Cyrus". Marisa Tomeii and John C. Reilly? That's almost as believable as the Seinfeld episode where she was said to like short, bald, funny men. And that George Costanza actually had a shot at her!
But, I digress for a final time. "Cyrus" review tomorrow.
PS - I didn't hate "Knight and Day", but didn't love it either. I will say it entertained and Tom was back to his charming, cute, middle-aged man self! I give it a JoJoSoSo.
